Michah/Micah 5:6 - 6:8
Chapter 5
6 And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many peoples — like dew from Hashem, like raindrops upon grass, that hopes not for a man and anticipates not the soul of a man. 7 And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the nations, in the midst of many peoples — like a lion among the forest animals, like a lion cub among the flocks of sheep, which, if it passes through, tramples and sunders, and there is no rescuer. 8 Your hand shall be raised over your adversaries, and all your enemies shall be cut down.
9 And it shall be on that day — the word of Hashem — I will cut down your horses from your midst, and I will cause your chariots to be lost, 10 and I will cut down the cities of your land; and I will raze all your strongholds, 11 and I will cut out wizardry from your hand; and soothsayers there will not be for you, 12 and I will cut down your graven idols and your pillars from your midst; and you shall never again prostrate yourself to your handiwork, 13 and I will uproot your idol-trees from your midst; and I will destroy your cities, 14 in anger and fury will I inflict vengeance upon the nations that do not listen.
Chapter 6
1 Listen now to what Hashem says - "Arise! Contend with the mountains, and let the hills hear your voice. 2 Listen, O mountains, to Hashem's argument, and the mighty ones, the foundations of the earth; for Hashem has an argument against His people, and He shall contend with Israel. 3 O My people, what have I done to you? How have I wearied you? Testify against Me. 4 When I brought you up from the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of slavery, I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam. 5 O My people, remember now what Balak king of Moab plotted and what Balaam son of Beor answered him; [despite the sin of the spies dispatched] from the Shittim, [I nevertheless split the Jordan for you when I brought you] to the Gilgal; that you may know the righteous acts of Hashem."
6 With what shall I approach Hashem, shall I humble myself before God of the heavens? — shall I approach Him with burntofferings, with calves in their first year? 7 Will Hashem find favor in thousands of rams, in tens of thousands of streams of oil? — shall I give over my firstborn [to atone for] my transgression, the fruit of my womb [for] the sin of my soul? 8 He has told you, O man, what is good, and what Hashem seeks from you - only the performance of justice, the love of kindness, and walking humbly with your God.
