The American television network Comedy Central has drawn fire with two allegedly anti-Semitic characters in the Drawn Together show and video game. The characters, a television producer named “Jew Producer” and a murderous robot dubbed I.S.R.A.E.L Attack, “play into and encourage offensive anti-Semitic and anti-Israel stereotypes,” says the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).

ADL director Abraham Foxman called on Comedy central to remove the game and videos from its website, “or – at the very least – to put the clips from the show behind a wall so that young children will no longer have access to them.”

While Comedy Central may not have intended to spread anti-Semitic stereotypes, the fact that its material is geared to children and young adults “is especially troubling,” Foxman said.

The robot character, Intelligent Smart Robot Animation Eraser Lady (ISRAEL Attack), is sent to destroy other characters on the show. The robot is described as “having boundary issues,” and destroys everything in its path, including children.

"Jew Producer” and “ISRAEL Attack” angered other Jewish groups as well. Among them was HonestReporting, which opened a page on the social networking site Facebook calling on Comedy Central to remove its “I.S.R.A.E.L. Attack game.” More than 2,200 people have subscribed to the page.

Comedy Central has not yet responded to complaints about the game.
