Anti-Zionists Firebomb Kristallnacht Synagogue, Demand PA Peace
Rashi Synagogue in Worms, Germany

Anti-Zionists firebombed a rebuilt 11th-century Worms, Germany synagogue earlier this week and left behind letters in broken German stating, “As you don't leave the Palestinians in peace, we won't let you in peace." Police said they have not yet determined the political background of the attackers, who have not been caught.

The chilling reminder of the Nazi Kristallnacht burning of synagogues in Germany in 1938, including the one targeted in Worms, did not cause serious damage, and no one was injured despite firebombs being thrown at eight corners of the stone building and against a window.

Police were alerted to the attack after a firebomb exploded at night, waking up a neighbor. Firefighters extinguished the blaze, and security was tightened around other synagogues in the province of Rhineland-Palatinate.

Province governor Kurt Beck said after the incident, "We will not tolerate such an attack on a synagogue,” which is the oldest existing synagogue in Germany.
