The Skatalites to perform in Israel
The Skatalites. Together for 45 years.

Israeli music lovers are in for another treat this September in the form of veteran Ska and Reggae band The Skatalites. The band will arrive in Israel next month to perform a single show at the Barbie Club in Tel Aviv on September 7.

Concert tickets will be sold for NIS 159 in the presale, or NIS 179 on concert night.

The Skatalites consist of nine musicians and will arrive as part of their European tour, celebrating 45 years of music making.

The concert will showcase a wide variety of the band's songs and opening for them will be Israeli group Los Caparos. Production companies Auris Media and Nerja are responsible for bringing the veteran group to Israel.

The Skatalites have been together for 45 years, but most original band members have passed away. Between 1963 and 1965 members of the group played alongside Bob Marley's The Wailers and producer and musician Lee Perry.

They performed their last concert in the mid 60's. In 1983 core members of the band joined other musicians and they have been making music together ever since.
