80 Years of Torah and Labor

The Bnei Akiva youth group celebrated its eightieth anniversary with a huge gathering at Tel Aviv University. Anyone and everyone who worked for the group since its inception was invited.

Rabbi Chaim Druckman, head of the Bnei Akiva yeshivas, recalled the group's past and praised its ability to overcome difficulties with a “revolution” that changed modern Israel. “It is hard to imagine the Land of Israel and the State of Israel without Bnei Akiva,” he said.

Former Bnei Akiva director Amnon Shapira looked to the movement's future and mentioned the next generation of Bnei Akiva leaders. “The current young generation of Bnei Akiva members is doing some things differently... but generally, they are doing it with the same youthful vitality, the same great potential,” he said.

In the above video, former and current Bnei Akiva leaders discuss the movement's past, present and future.
