(IsraelNN.com) A new directive that forbids new construction in Judea and Samaria unless it has the seal of approval by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will not prevent construction of housing projects in the Jerusalem neighborhoods of Har Homa and Maaleh Adumim, according to The Jerusalem Post.
Despite fiery criticism from international leaders and the Palestinian Authority, the projects will continue, said the source, who added the negotiations and agreements already made do not affect the State's building policies. Both projects fall within the municipal boundaries of Jerusalem.
Israel is fully committed to the Roadmap plan, the source said, and the requirement for Olmert to approval all projects was implemented in order to ensure there would be no surprises during negotiations, including those relating to long-ago approved projects.
