Cast Lead: IDF Strikes from Air, Ground, Sea
Troops outside Gaza
Flash 90

IDF troops on the ground, in the air, and at sea worked together Wednesday to take out roughly 20 targets in Gaza. At least 15 terrorists were hit.

The IAF demolished three tunnels, several rocket launchers, including some that were subterranean, five weapons warehouses and several armed terrorists. Pilots also hit armed terrorists as they attempted to attack ground troops.

Ground soldiers in Gaza City discovered a cache containing 20 rockets. The rockets were destroyed in a controlled explosion.

Earlier in the day, a group of soldiers from a Paratroopers unit were searching a building in northern Gaza when they were approached by a terrorist wearing a bomb belt. Soldiers fired on the terrorist, which activated his bomb and killed him instantly. No soldiers were hurt.

IDF spokespeople announced on Wednesday night that several soldiers had been hurt by an anti-tank missile earlier in the day. One soldier was seriously wounded and others were moderately and lightly wounded.

An IAF pilot responded to the attack, hitting the terrorists who had fired the missile.

A total of 16 IDF soldiers were wounded on Wednesday. One is in serious condition, two are in moderate condition, and the remaining 13 suffered light wounds. Their families have been notified.
